A sensational move could happen in next year’s summer transfer window.
“Mundo Deportivo” has reported that Barcelona is monitoring the situation of Marco Asensio.
According to the Spanish medium, Barca appreciates the level shown over the years by the Spaniard, as well as his skills – including his age, which suits the team led by Xavi.
Asensio’s contract with Real Madrid expires on June 30, 2023. So, he can leave Santiago Bernabeu as a free agent after the end of this season.
Barcelona are said to be considering the possibility of signing the 26-year-old, if he does not renew his contract with “Los Blancos”.
The Catalan club can also use the good relationship they have with Jorge Mendes, who is the player’s agent.
