Robert Lewandowski has explained why he decided to move to Barcelona, after spending eight seasons at Bayern Munich.
The Polish striker also revealed that Real Madrid had also shown interest in him.
“Real Madrid showed interest in me several times, but when I saw Barcelona’s desire to sign me, I realized that my transfer there was possible. I knew that the next step in my career should be this”, he said in an interview for “Kanal Sportowy”.
“I always wanted to play in La Liga and live in Spain. Now I feel revived. I’m learning Spanish and little by little I’m understanding it better. It helps me a lot that English is understood in the dressing room,” added the 34-year-old.
Otherwise, Lewandowski signed a 4-year contract with Barcelona, with the possibility of extension for one more year.
