Mauricio Pochettino could take charge of Aston Villa.
The leaders of the Birmingham club are considering the appointment of the former PSG coach to replace Steven Gerrard. The position of the latter at the club is not reliable, in many respects his future fate will depend on the next two games with Fulham (October 20) and Brentford (23).
Pochettino is considered the main candidate for the position of coach. At the same time, the club will be ready to wait if the Argentine does not give immediate consent.
If Pochettino refuses to work at Villa, the club will consider appointing former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel or former Arsenal boss Unai Emery, currently in charge of Villarreal.
After 10 games, Aston Villa has scored 9 points and is 16th in the standings.
Pochettino was sacked by PSG at the end of last season. Previously, he already worked in the Premier League, the Argentine managed Southampton (from 2013 to 2014) and Tottenham (from 2014 to 2019).
