After a hard fought win in the first of two friendlies before setting off for the 2023 Women’s World Cup base camp in Australia next month in, Bundestrainerin Martina Voss-Tecklenburg cited the need for the German women’s national team to “improve in all areas” ahead of the coming tournament. Laura Freigang, Merle Frohms, and Sara Däbritz also offered up their thoughts following a 2-1 win over fellow World Cup entrants Vietnam in Offenbach yesterday. The German women – with several pillars not yet fully integrated into the squad – have another friendly scheduled with World Cup entrants Zambia in Fürth on July 7th.
