Real Madrid won the city derby with Atletico, maintaining a perfect run of 6 consecutive victories in the new La Liga season.
Despite the victory, coach Carlo Ancelotti was partly satisfied.
“We had a double advantage and we defended well. We thought that the advantage would be enough, we defended well, but we lacked the desire to go forward. We were able to create more chances coming from behind”, the Italian coach declared for “Movistar+”.
He also spoke about last night’s opponent, for whom he has the utmost respect.
“Atletico Madrid has an excellent team. This team will be in the ‘fight’ until the end. Nothing is decided at the moment. We started the season well, Atletico not very well, but everything can change. It will be a special season because after two months the season will stop and for us it was important to start like this”, concluded Ancelotti.
The goals for “Los Blancos” were scored by Rodrygo and Valverde.
Real Madrid is at the top of the Spanish championship with 18 points, two more than Barcelona.
