Kylian Mbappe has turned from the cornerstone of Paris Saint-Germain’s project into a serious problem, as the 23-year-old has lost the support of the dressing room.
French media reports that even PSG employees are against the privileges given to the French star in return for signing his contract last May.
According to L’Equipe, the backbone of the club’s dressing room, led by a trio of South Americans (Neymar, Lionel Messi and Marquinhos) are unhappy with the French star and have the support of Achraf Hakimi, a trio of French (Presnel Kimpembe, Nordi Mukiele and Hugo Ekitike) and coach Christophe Galtier.
The sports leaders of the Parisian club formed a team in which Mbappe was the cornerstone of the project and leader in the dressing room.
For this purpose, the club sanctioned the departures of Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes to weaken the core of the South Americans.
Furthermore, the performances of the club’s other two stars (Messi and Neymar) have surpassed Mbappe’s in the opening games of the season, further questioning Mbappe’s power at the club.
Mbappe remains close to those at the helm of the club’s sporting department. Luis Campos, Oliver Gagne and the new head of sports communications, Julien Maynard, are said to have no problem with Mbappe’s current performances and demands.
The French newspaper also pointed out that the club’s employees are extremely unhappy with the French star, partly because of the attitude he displays in his day-to-day dealings.
“One day he arrives at Camp des Loges, all smiles, jokes and greets everyone, and the next day he arrives without saying a word, he doesn’t look at anyone. It has been like this since the beginning of the season”, said the club employee.
With the situation worsening with each passing day, it looks like Mbappe’s time in the French capital may be over.
