The coach of Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone, has said that he will not resign.
The club he manages, Atletico Madrid, was eliminated from the group stage of the Champions League on Wednesday.
However, Simeone says he will not leave the club without winning the Champions League.
“A difficult moment, but I will not resign. I am stubborn and as long as I am at the club I will insist that we get the trophy in the Champions League, which we need,” said Simeone.
The Argentinian coach has a contract with Atletico until June 2024. He has coached the Madrid club since 2011 and with Atletico he won two La Liga titles, the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, two Europa Leagues and two European Super Cups. .
Simeone lost the Champions League final to Real in 2014 and 2016.
