William Saliba is expected to stay at Arsenal for a long time.
The French defender signed for the club from the Emirates Stadium in 2019, but he then had loan deals at Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille before officially becoming part of the first-team squad this season.
Since his first season with Arsenal, Saliba has shown his skills. He is being evaluated as one of the most important footballers, as he is irreplaceable in Mikel Arteta’s formation.
“90min” reported that “The Gunners” want to offer a new contract to the 21-year-old. His current contract expires on June 30, 2024.
On Sunday, Arsenal scored a 3-0 win away to Brentford – with Saliba declaring after the game that he feels “at home”. His statement is being seen as a positive signal for reaching an agreement to renew the contract.
“Here I am at home. I love London, I love the club, I love everything. I feel at home here,” he told Sky Sports News.
Thanks to his good performances, William Saliba has been invited by the French National Team for the upcoming matches in the League of Nations, against Austria and Denmark.
